Saturn Evacuation System

The Saturn Evacuation System (SES) has been designed to remove airborne contamination such as smoke, fumes, vapourous residues and other noxious particulates that may be emitted in the extrusion process of blown film.

The Saturn Evacuation System is a small air ring that is constructed of aluminum and fits between the die and the primary cooling ring. It is connected to the vacuum side of the pressure blower. The system creates a positive vacuum, which draws a majority of the airborne contamination from the low-pressure zone at the die exit. This polluted air can then be filtered, and the discharged particulates directed to a suitable location.
