The Saturn Bubble Break Control System has been devised to control the outcome of bubble break occurrences. This system incorporates an ultrasonic sensor, which monitors the bubble, sending out a signal to notify the operator when breakage has occurred. In case of a film tear, severe leak, or complete breakage, the unit will automatically shut down the nip and/or winder. This ensures that the bubble tail will remain in the tower so that the operator will not have to restring the bubble through the tower. If operator safety is an issue, keeping the bubble from escaping through the tower is an ideal situation.
