The Saturn 2000 adjustment was created to accommodate industry demands to allow the airflow to the Forming Cone of the Saturn cooling ring to be increased or decreased while the air ring is in full production mode. This improvement will allow operators to make this critical airflow adjustment without having to shutdown the line and lose production.

Design

• The Saturn 2000 air ring has been engineered to incorporate a simple mechanism that can be easily adjusted.
• The adjustment allows the Forming Cone to increase or decrease the airflow to the bubble stalk to ensure the exact combination of volume and velocity for all polymers and blends.
• This feature eliminates the expense of having to shut down the line to adjust the Forming Cone, eliminating down time and costly film scrap.

Application

• The adjustment of the Forming Cone allows exact control over the airflow combination between air flow layers to control the thickness of the film bubble wall.
